A Collection of Live Visual Minutes Captured Around Water
In my visual note-taking, water frequently emerges as a theme, whether through collaborations with leading water-sector institutions or as a powerful metaphor flowing through events. Inspired by this, I'm launching a collection of Visual Minutes dedicated to water.
This conference hosted by the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), International Water Management Institute (IWMI), and CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research) gathers experts across Africa to address critical irrigation and water management challenges. It encourages teamwork and creative solutions to overcome pressing issues like improving irrigation access, ensuring sustainable water practices, and strengthening agricultural resilience through shared expertise and innovative technologies.

The 14th IWA Specialized Conference on Large Wastewater Treatment Plants in Budapest brings together operators, designers, and researchers to tackle the design, operation, and economics of major wastewater facilities. It promotes collaboration and innovative thinking to address critical issues like nutrient removal, resource recovery, and sustainable urban water systems through practical knowledge exchange and technological progress.

I was invited along to capture the Innovation Acceleration Forum via Graphic Recording. The IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition brings together water experts to tackle global water and sanitation issues, especially in developing countries. It fosters collaboration and new ideas to solve urgent water scarcity, pollution, and access challenges through shared knowledge and practical solutions.

The International Water Management Institute’s (IWMI) WaterTalk Series is a dynamic webinar platform where global water professionals, scientists, and stakeholders discuss innovative approaches to water management. It promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing to tackle pressing challenges like water scarcity, agricultural productivity, and environmental sustainability.

I had the honour of joining the Tobique First Nation's heartfelt Wolastoqey Language Planning Session, focused on preserving and revitalizing the Wolastoqey language. Water holds profound significance in Wolastoqey culture—it is seen as the life force that connects people, land, and spirit. This is reflected in the session’s title, "Wolastoqey Lutawewakon Flows Through Us," symbolizing how the Wolastoqey language, like water, continuously flows through generations, nurturing identity, knowledge, and community.
