However some events gain most from a thoughtful post-event capture: when we take the time to collaborate and transform the insights into a truly practical and strategic visual. This is certainly the case with the Visual Notes we created for a couple highly strategic events held by the Canadian Red Cross: the Ready 2026 Conference and the Humanitarian Services Vision 2030 Symposium.
Strategic Visual Notes for the Ready 2026 Conference
The Ready 2026 Conference brought together over 130 people from communities, governments, First Nations, and emergency response organizations to strengthen how Canada prepares for growing disaster risks. With climate‑driven emergencies on the rise, the focus was on sharing real‑world experiences from recent responses and building stronger coordination for the future. Participants explored practical ways to make communities more resilient and work more collaboratively across sectors.
Strategic Visual Notes for the Humanitarian Services Vision 2030 Symposium
The Humanitarian Services Vision 2030 Symposium is part of the Canadian Red Cross’s long‑term strategy to shift toward a more proactive, equitable, and comprehensive humanitarian approach by 2030. It focuses on improving how services are delivered before, during, and after emergencies, emphasizing stronger partnerships, inclusive action, and addressing complex needs that go beyond immediate disaster response. The symposium brings together people committed to evolving humanitarian work so it better supports individuals and communities in a changing world.
