Engaging the Public in Clinical Research
The ENGAGE Working Group is working to develop a more holistic approach to involving the public in clinical research. To inform their work, the NIH Office of Science Policy is hosting community conversations across the country—12 sessions designed to listen to the public and learn from their perspectives. As part of this initiative, I've been invited to graphic record each conversation as it unfolds.
Live Graphic Recording supporting the NIH
My role is to actively listen, capture the community's feedback, and visually synthesize the key insights in real-time. These dynamic visual summaries help make complex discussions more engaging and easier to understand, while also ensuring that the community’s thoughts and feelings are effectively communicated to the NIH.
The summary of each NIH community conversation can be found on the NIH website, which also allows us to compare the key themes across these convenings!

Virtual Graphic Recording across the USA
I had the pleasure of "traveling" across the U.S. with the amazing Pyxis Partners team, who facilitated these discussions and made graphic recording possible. Thanks to their excellent setup and the magic of virtual graphic recording, I was able to join the conversations and even introduce myself, sharing the graphic on the big screen every time. It felt as though I was there—despite sometimes being thousands of miles away!
